The Bathurst Heritage Trust Commission was incorporated on March 28, 1989.
​
The Museum grew and developed into a remarkable repository of the treasures and histories of the region.
​
In January 2004, the Museum, Archives, and Genealogy could call 360 Douglas Avenue home. It continues to be operated by a dedicated group of volunteers.

Le Musée a grandi et s'est développé pour devenir un dépôt remarquable des trésors et de l'histoire de la région.
